femmes of the future

a PrattSoA collective for the students + the public

Earth week at Pratt

︎This March 27th

Celebrating Women’s History Month....

this March 3rd an opening exhibition at 6:00pm in the Leo J. Kuhn Lobby at Higgins Hall

followed by a live, in-person panel in the auditiorium and a soiree

The panel discussion features women from different niches within the architecture field. It will be a great opportunity to hear their experiences and insights on the architecture industry. We encourage everyone to bring their friends as the panel will be followed by a soiree  for open discussion between practicing professionals and students at Pratt. This will be a great opportunity for connecting with inspiring women in architecture.

FUTURE FORUM Pt. 1

February 11th

our esteemed guests Sara Jazayeri, Molly Mason and Gabriele Baierle join us on International Women in STEM Day

Inspiring words from our incredible panelists at our first ever Future Forum :

“Think about what is your core authentic thread”

“Having the confidence and knowing that you’re capable can change everything”

“Taking the time to learn how technology can work with people”

our project 2 : 8 to 8 : 2 takes a critical lense on what it means to be a woman in architecture.

2: 8 represents the present female to male ratio of registered architects. In this project, Femmes observes and analyzes the reversal of this ratio.

OUR MISSION

To redefine the role of women in the design industry, not as members, but as active leaders and mentors. To serve the public for the advancement and education of cross generational scholars; to invent, explore, and transcend social constructs.
